Hendrick Hospital has a family room that's right down the hall from the NICU nursery for couples who have babies in the NICU to breastfeed or pump. Right now we are the only ones who fit into that category since all the other babies are preemies who are being bottle-fed. And since Eydie is no longer connected to monitors but only has an IV, we are able to take her in there with us and hang out all day. It has been such a blessing! The room has a single bed, a couple rockers, a small couch, a table, and a TV. This morning we got to the hospital around 9:00. We took Eydie into the family room where I nursed her and then she took a long nap on her daddy's chest while he watched the U.S. Open. It was so sweet! When she woke up I nursed her again and then I took a nap on the bed with her napping in her little bed beside me while Brandon went and got us lunch. All day the three of us just chilled in the family room nursing and napping and hanging out together. The nurses just come in there every couple of hours to check on us and update her chart and take her vitals. We've been able to be there all day and get lots of rest. It has been wonderful to have it to ourselves all day! Today Eydie ate a lot. She largely increased her input and output (yes, they're keeping track of everything that goes in and out) from the day before. She's doing so well and looking very healthy. The nurses have been great to us. Today was a good day, and it really was the next best thing to having her home with us.

What a blessing! I'm so glad yall get to have all that time together in the middle of all the hubbub of the hospital. Eydie is so blessed to have you two as her parents--I love that you have created a place of peace, rest, and comfort for her despite the stress of being in the hospital. It is beautiful to watch yall. We are praying for you three and hope the next few days are full of more good cuddle time and that each new day brings more healing and good reports. Love you guys!
How sweet she looks sleeping on her daddy! I am so glad she is doing so well and hope you guys can take her home soon!
Hey girl,
She is SO BEAUTIFUL! Sorry my congrats are late. We've been out of town, so I am finally catching up on your blog. I am so glad Eydie is doing so well. She is precious!
What a great picture of Brandon and Eydie. Sounds like you three had a fun day together.
So glad that you've had such a great "home away from home." Still thinking about you guys and praying for you! Looking forward to seeing those going home pics soon!
That is a great set-up! Can't wait to meet her!!!
I'm glad to hear that everything has smoothed out...I know you will be even more relieved when you get Eydie home to spoil her in private! We are thinking of you all.
My best,
Dottie S
We're so thankful Eydie is doing so well. Looking forward to meeting her and introducing her to Jude. Maybe they'll grow up to play in forts, hit each other with bats, and eat midnight ice cream sundaes.
She is so precious and truley one of the prettiest babies I ever seen. She looks a lot like her pretty momma. I hope things are doing better and that she's able to come home soon. I know you can't wait to be a mom to her at home. I'm praying for you and your sweet little one. Take care.
